There’s a chill in the air each morning, and we’re getting ready to harvest 20 acres of winter squash, you know what that means – Winter CSA Share boxes are right around the corner! This is our 3rd year offering Winter Share boxes during the winter holidays, it’s always a hit with our CSA members. Sign-up for a Thanksgiving Share Box and/or a December Share box, Winter Share boxes are $50 each or $90 for both. Our CSA main season ends November 15th, then we take a week off and deliver Thanksgiving Share Boxes the Saturday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
The Thanksgiving boxes are a great addition to the festive weekend! We have lots of recipes to make for the meal, but also for working with your leftovers. Check our site for brunch ideas and more, we’ll also include suggested recipes when the box comes out. These full bushel boxes are filled to the brim with root vegetables, winter squash, greens, onions, and more. Most of the items will store well into December, and each box contains over 75 servings!!
December boxes are delivered the week prior to Christmas, right around the middle of December. Winter Share box items store extremely well, so this box should be a great addition to your meals into the New Year! Around the holidays we love to experiment with baking from the share boxes, we’ll share recipes, shopping tips, and more when the boxes are delivered.
We will be delivering our Winter CSA boxes on an abbreviated delivery route schedule. Not all of our Summer CSA pickup locations will be available, but we did our best to design our winter route so that folks don’t have to travel too far to pick-up their box. Pick-up your Winter Share Boxes on Tuesdays in the Ithaca, Syracuse, and Binghamton area, or on Saturdays at the Ithaca Farmers’ Market or the Syracuse Regional Market.
