weeding rutabagas for our CSA at Early Morning Farm

Happy August!

We’ve been so busy on the farm finishing the last of our big fall plantings of Beets, Carrots, Radishes, etc. and cleaning up our fields with hours and hours of hand weeding and hoeing. While we were working on the future our present harvest is really ripening nicely. This coming week we’ll have Green Peppers, Eggplants, and probably Tomatoes as well. We are probably going to take a week off of the carrots, our first planting came up a little thin and our second planting is still two weeks away from ready. Lettuce, Onions, Cucumbers, and Summer Squash should all continue, and we should have Basil again for a week or so.
