What’s growing well…

There’s no denying it, all of the rain we’ve been getting has made this a challenging growing year for sure.  But in spite of this our crops are fairing pretty well – here’s a list of crops that are looking awesome right now:

Eggplant
Peppers
Tomatoes
Winter Squash
Potatoes
Fall Cabbage, Kale, Brussels Sprouts, and Broccoli
Beets

And not as well…

So far our only major crop loss has been our strawberries. But there are a few other crops that we are struggling a bit with.

Cucumbers – all of our plantings are struggling a bit.

Summer Squash – we typically plant this in 3 successions with plant dates about 3 – 4 weeks apart. We are just starting to pick from our first planting, but our second planting looks like it might not make it at all.

Lettuce – we like to have lettuce available to put in the share box every week, but we are getting some disease pressure on our plantings due to wet weather so we are going to come up short some weeks.

Hey Folks – good job remembering to bring your boxes back each week – we very much appreciate it! 🙂
