The pick-up dates for the Thanksgiving Winter Share Boxes have arrived!  Saturday is the first pick-up at the Ithaca Farmer’s Market.   The boxes are filled with certified organic root vegetables, winter squash, and rounded out with some hearty greens.  We’ve got plenty of recipes in our Recipe Index and on our Pinterest Page to get you started with your holiday meal planning.

Winter Squash

You’ll see a few varieties in the share boxes and in most recipes the different types can be subbed.  Butternut is best for peeling and slicing or dicing and sweet dumpling and acorn are the perfect foil for a rich stuffing.

Root Vegetables

The entire Winter Share has a great variety of root vegetables.  Radishes, beets, celeriac, parsnips, try a new preparation this year and see how you like it.  Radishes take on a mild flavor and texture when cooked and parsnips can stand up to any potato dish.
