Weekly Meal Plan:

The last week of our 2014 CSA season has arrived! We really can’t thank you enough for being a part of our 16th Growing Season! We truly couldn’t do it without the support of our members. It’s been an amazing season – the farm has grown as we’ve added to our crew and membership and we’re looking forward to next year already. Onto the vegetables! In this week’s share we have more Brussels sprouts, lacinato kale, and two varieties of squash! We’re also including a cone-shaped cabbage, the outer leaves are great for cabbage rolls, and the inner leaves can be used for a sauté or slaw. We couldn’t help but include more of the beautiful fall radishes we’ve been harvesting. Include some in the Root Vegetable Gratin or try pickling them to enjoy later. Don’t forget you can still extend your share of the harvest with a winter share or early renewal. Winter shares are going fast, but there are still some available. Read on for more info about early sign-up discounts (this month only!), winter shares (sign-up ends soon!), and Thanksgiving turkeys from our friends at Good Life Farm!

News from the Farm.

One week left for winter shares! This is our third year offering Winter CSA Share boxes. Winter Share Boxes are packed in a full bushel box and filled to the brim with certified organic veggies. Boxes are delivered the week before Thanksgiving, and mid-December. 75+ servings of root vegetables, winter squash, hearty greens, and more. Click here to learn more and sign up!
Thanksgiving Turkeys. We don’t raise any livestock – but friends of ours do! We’re putting in a plug for our friends at The Good Life Farm – they raise Certified Organic pasture fed turkeys. And they’ll deliver them to some of our Winter CSA pickup locations on the same day as your pickup. There is a $40 deposit to reserve your turkey. If you are interested please contact Melissa Madden from the Good Life Farm directly, her email is Melissa@thegoodlifefarm.org
Early Renewal Discounts! Renew your share or sign-up before November 30th for a 2015 CSA Share and receive 10% off with full payment. We are also offering a 5% discount on payment plans. Make one payment now, and the remaining four monthly payments in March, April, May, and June. The 10% discount is equal to over 2 free weeks of vegetables, and the 5% discount is equal to over 1 week of free vegetables. As the main season is winding down we’re planning our seed and other orders for the 2015 season. We receive early discounts from our suppliers, so we are able to pass these discounts on to our members for early renewal. Click here for details and to sign-up online!

Please carefully unfold your box and return it to your pick-up site next week – for food safety reasons, please only use boxes for food use.
