Autumn is a busy time on our organic vegetable farm. It’s harvest time and our focus has shifted from nurturing our crops to enjoying the bounty that the season has to offer. Winter squash, Brussels sprouts, cabbages, carrots, beets, kale and so much more form a constant stream from the fields and into our CSA boxes.
The chilly nights and crisp cool afternoons are signals, letting us know that the CSA harvest season will soon be coming to an end. However, the farm operates year round; meticulous planning throughout the winter months, greenhouse work in the early spring, and a planting marathon all happen before next season’s early June CSA harvests. This is why it’s so important to consider joining our CSA for next year now! Your early support offers stability to our mission by providing essential funding that helps our farm thrive in the “off” season.
We make an effort to support local and regional seed companies and produce supply companies – the majority of our supplies and seeds are purchased from small companies based in the Northeast! And guess what!? Farm supply businesses need cash to get through the winter too. In fact, most of our suppliers offer us around a 10% discount to purchase our supplies for next season before the end of the year. We see this as a Win, Win opportunity for everyone. We can pass the discount on to our CSA members!
If you join our CSA before the mid-November we can give you the share with a 10% discount – that’s like getting a little more than 2 weeks of CSA veggies for free!
We also offer a payment plan – which breaks your CSA payments up into 5 monthly installments. Your first installment is paid when you signup and the next payment isn’t due until March! Payment plans receive a 5% discount during the early signup period.
